Feminization of Poverty Lost Ground: Welfare Reform, Poverty, and Beyond by Randy Albelda, In the mid-1980s, the popularity of Charles Murray's anti-welfare treatise Losing Ground signaled the rising influence of the right-wing critique of welfare.
